Just wondering have many of you been away on a sun holiday the week of St. Patricks day? And if so....is it good craic or is it the same as any other day in your destination?

I LOVE St Patricks day but i'm going to be in Puerto Rico this year. have a feeling it's not gonna be great. :(
(it's not the be all and end all i know, i'll still be away having fun)

Agree with the Monteserrat suggestion, was there for Paddys Day in 2004, great craic on the island went drinking with a load of black Carib guys with surnames like Murphy and O'Donnell !

OP it won't feel that much like Paddys Day when you are abroad and just walking the streets. However get yourself down the local Oirish bar, of which they're be plenty, get knotted and you'll barely notice the difference:pac:

Was in Puerto Rico(gran canaria) last year for St.Patricks day, Irish going about all day dressed in green as you would expect, most of the Irish pubs had music all day. Went to one of the Irish pubs to watch the All-Ireland club football final that day and got a shock when I payed for the drinks, nearly 3 times dearer than the pubs I usually drink in over there. Suppose, the same as Irish pubs every where abroad:mad:

I made it as far as Spain one year for Paddy's day. Calahonda in fact, great little Irish community there and bar the weather it was the same as any other Paddy's day....

I would love to be heading off to Puerto Rico this March :(

    Enjoy!
