Some help would be great. I live in the middle of no where and have not had broadband til we go live this week. A nice man from BT came to us so I obviosly signed up straight away. My question is, should i go for the max which i can get(3MB) or would 1MB be enough for online gaming wit my PS3. Also Ive read some posts about NAT and to honest dont really understand it(Im not a tech head) so wil the router I get from BT be ok?

Id recommend going for the best speed you can get. I've got 20mb in my place in cork with ntl and sometimes struggle with good signal depending on time of day and often for no apparent reason while at my home place in limerick there is eircom with 3/4mb and i often get ****ty signal but get good alot too. Faster the better i reckon. My computer freak mate tells me the faster one is better for online gaming too

download is not too important for online gaming, your upload is the one that matters, i have friends on 1mb on ps3 without any problems, you will have slow downloads of demos from the ps store, but your gaming should be fine, faster connections can bring with them higher pings and contention, but in today's world you'd be as well off get te 3mb if your just a casual user
as for nat, you'll see when you first setup your ps3 internet connection, it will tell you what your nat is, 1,2,3, ideally you'll be looking for 1 or 2, preferably 2, 3 can be ok, but limits your connections in someway, like chat etc, some games harder to get into, come back to us, when you know your nat, we'll take it from there, you might be ok, i'm not a bt customer, i dont know
