For anyone that was interested in the Nike+ for the iPod, I saw the distance chip with the iPod sensor or whatever they are called :o in lifestyle sports on Sunday in Galway marked down from E30 to E20. They had about 20 of them at least, probably selling them off in a few places

If you buy one, hold on to your receipt, because the first one I got, about 2 years ago lasted 6 months approx, which was ok. But then the second one I got, lasted 6 weeks. The battery in the sensor is not replaceable, and presumably had degraded in the shop.

Hey Plodder, I haven't purchased cos I wanted one with a HRM but someone did reply to a thread alright and mentioned that the battery didn't make it much past the 500 mile mark or something similar-so I suppose you would have to be ok with the fact that it's only going to last a few months-can you buy the replacement chips on their own afterwards?

Good suggestion of hanging on to the receipt anyway-there is no point getting stung just because they are selling off stock. I'm waiting for delivery of a Forerunner 305-cant replace the battery in those babies either it seems :( For the money I think it should be possible :(

Ah right. Though the Forerunner watch battery is rechargeable, and the battery in the HRM is replaceable. That was a mistake in the design of the Nike+ thing IMO. You have to buy the same kit over again each time. Though at 20 euros it's obviously not that expensive, so long as it lasts a decent while.
