    hey,

i have a nokia N96, i bought it and it wasn't bad, relatively quick etc, then i downloaded a new firmware for it from the nokia website.. and now its extremely slow and pretty unusable...

is there any way to retract to the old software?

I'd imagine you could get a copy of the old firmware somewhere and use third party applications to downgrade the firmware.

Have you tried doing a hard reset *#7370#. It doesn't wipe the firmware but it will clear everything else, or your other option is to re-flash again with the same firmware.
