Jobseekrs Allowance - Living with Parents Question

Hi guys. I'm new here and I'm just wondering about Jobseekers Allowance, and how to avoid Benefit and Privilege if possible.

I am entitled to Jobseekers Allowance, but I'm under 25 and I live with my parents.

We just moved house, and the location is too remote so I intend to move out. However, I need Jobseekers Allowance to be able to afford to move out. I can't be tested for 'benefit and privilege' because my dad's income is a mess and if he tries to prove his annual salary, apparently it will open up a can of worms.

I need to be able to avoid benefit and privilege, and I'm wondering that if my intention is to move out, then can they ignore the fact that i'm currently living in my family home.

Also, if anyone knows, about how long will it take for it to kick in after I apply?

I don't know how to start a new thread.. so I'm latching onto your question which is similar to what I wanna ask. I am 25 living with parents since september 08...was in galway at uni from sep 07 and got a grant. Can I get JA living back at home? I don't have any tax credits built up... Will they take into account what my parents earn... this will also cause hassle for my dad.

Any help?? Will they take into my bro who lives here? Or will I be treated as independent from my folks?

once u r living at home, they have to take ur parents income into consideration. stupid i know.
Best advice is to move out first before applying. Its the only way to avoid benefit and privilege. Even move in with a sibling temporarily.
Not sure how long the whole process is taking at the moment, 8+ weeks i would imagine.
