    Hello...

I am a 22yr old female vocalist based in Cork. I have 5yrs+ experience in live gigs, independent tours, session work, recording etc I also write lyrics and have collobarated and wrote with other musicians on a regular basis.

My influences include- Joy division, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Blondie, Patti Smith, The Smiths, The Ramones, Grace Slick, Roxy Music, Bowie, New York Dolls, Television to name a few. I guess mostly, glam/punk/new wave/post punk but my influences genuinly are wide, varied and never ending lol

First and foremost I am ideally looking for a strong lead guitarist who has experience in songwriting. I do not play myself but i am hoping this could be someone who i could eventually create a strong partnership with and work on original material... lyrics, melodies etc so i guess creativity and drive are essential.

equally as important- looking for 2nd guitarist, Bass, Drums and keys ... if you can do backing vox aswell that would be an advantage but not essential.

Ultimate goal would be... original material, regular practices, gigs (and not just in Cork!), recording lp etc

If i have missed anything out just ask... i am trying to provide the right information as to save wasting anyones time. I feel i could provide a strong lead vocal... adaptable, great range, on stage persona etc. I am fun and respect individual artistic freedom aswell as in the band. Basically i would work with you not against you.

Please only apply if you are passionate about music/writing and want to play live, looking for people who have similar influences and are creative, fun, commited, passionate etc Please get in touch... Sorry if this sounds long, full on... just hopefully covered all the right points!

Thanks for reading... and looking forward to hearing from ya :D

My music interests are probably a bit too far out, but I do enjoy Post Punk and some new wave. I'll be interested to hear what you come up with.

I have the same problem. Looking to do a Band that's kind of Bauhausy and I can never find anyone. In the UK and probably Europe I'd have no problem. I'm afraid Ireland's definition of "alternative" is a girl with one pink streak in her hair. College students, people around our age, are a bit rubbish and all into "studenty" bands. I imagine with some of the oldies you've listed, you'd have a similar problem, though you might have better luck if you hang around Fred Zepplins(I'm not much of a pub type).

It's nuts that someone with 5+ years experience with recognisable influences can't find people though. Just shows how bad the scene has gotten, hope the recession improves that a bit, though it might result in more Squier -> cheap amp kind of bands too which is the last thing we need more of(since they can't afford fancy effects and stuff).

    Hey there!
Saw your thread and would be interested in playing some music with you. I`m a 25 year old female pianist. I currently work full time gigging around Cork city but I`m always looking to play with new musicians. I have all my own equipment. I also work with singer song writers and would be interested in working on some of your music.
    Give me a shout!:D
