I was looking at my bank statements online with my bank and came across a transaction of "UBL MORTGAGE CHOIC" with 50 euro taken out of my account on 04-02-09. I will ring my bank about it tomorrow but isn't this quite strange?

As far as I can see MORTGAGE CHOIC is actually Mortgage Choice Ireland - http://www.mortgagechoice.ie/

Strange one, must be some error some where but not a good one really.

It with the AIB so if you have an account should check just incase.

UBL sounds like Ulster Bank maybe

Yeah it does, I have a few more UBLs alright, ATMs so I'm guessing these are Ulster Bank ATMs. Must investigate.

According to Ulster Banks website, they have an ATM at:
    Mortgage Choice Property House
    29 Grand Parade
    IRL - Cork

You probably took €50 out there..

UBL is the prefix for Ulster Bank ATM's
    BOI for Bank of Ireland
    AIB for, yep, AIB (!!!)

Sometimes something like RAP will come up and its one of those standalone ATMS you find in the likes of local shops or petrol stations.

I just saw that too on my online statement, googled it and this thread came up. It's for the drunk link on Grand Parade in Cork.
