Just finished watching it - not usually a fan of animated movies and I've not yet played the game, but this would presumably be the story of what happens before the start of the game. Liked it a lot - quite violent.

It was a good introduction to the game. The animation was good and the characters were OK. The game picks up where this movie ends so you do get a good idea as to what the game will be like.

The horror isn't conveyed as well as it could have been, but I think that is an issue with animation as a medium for horror than this particular case. My €0.02

I agree with Otacon here, don't think Ive ever been scared by an animated horror, it's just too easy for your mind to remind you it isn't real.

Overall Deadspace was a good yarn, but borrowed heavily from too many other horror films, particularly the Alien franchise. It also spelled things out too much with the dialogue, basically spoonfeeding the audience.

Anyone else notice the MASSIVE plot hole?
After they rescue the civilians, what happens to them?

The game covers that part, the girl Vincent talks to cowering in the bed is the protagonists girl friend

Watched this last night, thought it was an excellent watch, as both a gore flick and a horror, the grimness of the situation is well presented and the complete confusion and terror of the cast is excellent.

Haven't played the game yet, but it gets good reviews
hence I know the above spoiler
and I'm definately going to get my mitts on it after this, very enjoyable film and sets a good scene for a game to follow.
