Playing DivX files on a PSP?

    Hi
Is it possible to play DivX video files on a PSP?
I thought that the firmware 4.0 enabled this but I've downloaded firmware 5.0 and placed a video in the correct folder (MP_ROOT > 100MNV01) but it says it can't find a video.

The web is full of sites (from early 2008) saying that its rumoured that firmware 4.0 will enable DivX playback. Yet no concrete data. Very bizarre.

    Anyone any idea?
    Thanks
    M

No I don't think its possible (not officially anyway). The only change they made is that you no longer need the MPROOT folder, you can just put videos in the VIDEO folder (aren't sony clever for thinking of that 3 years after launch!!).

There used to be a homebrew app called psPlayerMT that would play certain avi files but thats about it. Have to convert to mp4 i'm afraid

Definately no DivX support on PSP with any FW/CFW. You need to convert the files to MP4 format with XviD4PSP.
