Got one of these the other day for playing my stuff in the house. http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?DriveID=572

Was thinking of getting one of these for the car and hooking it up to a set of screens as nearly all the kids stuff is in divx or similar format and so will not work on normal in-car dvd systems. What I would like is if anyone had any links of suppliers or fitters they have used. I am really looking for a crowd that will do intergrated screens into the rear of headrest instead of the strap type.
Can anyone tell me why the WD box might not work in the car, i understand I will have to get some kind of converter for the juice but other than that??

    Cheers

to me that would be a bit OTT for your requirements - plus that is just the media player. You will also need to attach that to a harddrive which will mean cables everywhere. If you are just looking for playing stuff on the back of the headrests for kids I'd suggest picking up something in Argos with just the tv screens and the dvd player contained in one of the screens. You can burn what you want onto the discs and most players will play this. I know you are trying to get something intergrated and I'm sure someplace will do this for you but at a cost. I recently picked up the cheapest twin screened portable dvd player in Argos - they have little holders that you put onto the headrest and you just slip on and off the screen. Also as the dvd player is actually in the main screen you just have one cable to the power source. Reasonably tidy and I think it was around €130

actually worth mentioning if you are going the media player route that this one has the hard drive all in one
