    Is this allowed?

Checked the price of a Valentine's weekend break a few days ago, prices were 155 and 165 pp.

Wanted to think about it, checked back tonight, and they are now 209 and 229 pps.

    Can they do that?

    Can I name the hotel...

Yes they can. Prices change all the time.

Unless you agreed the price with them then it's very much a case of tough unfortunitly.

All hotels can, and do, change their prices according to demand, time of year, closeness to booking date etc.

If your rang aer lingus today, checked the price of a flight then rang back the day before to pay for it there price would have gone up.

I used to work in a hotel, and this is standard practice. When I worked in the hotel, there were so many rooms allocated to a certain rate, so once that allocation is gone, they are gone. As a reservations agent, we were not privy to how many rooms were at a given rate, there could be only 2 left at that rate, but there could also be 100. Same principal as with any airline...
