    Hi,
Are the star/ares g36 series AEGs any good? How are their internals specifically?
    Thanks.

    lol., very discript there tom.,:p

there not bad rifles, they have the whole quick change spring thing going on which is a nice feature, gears are good, as is motor. the pistons though are usually those see through plastic pieces of sh*t like the VFC ones.

Would it be necessary to change it as soon as I get it? or when it brakes? I think I'll get one , for 180$ you cant go wrong I suppose! What FPS do they shoot at? as I want to order one abroad.
    Thanks.

ah no, its a grand piston, they just could have used something a lot better, My star Scar is still on that piston and i've never bothered to change it.

They can be more brittle than other polycarb pistons but that doesnt mean its gonna eat itself soon as you get it.

Ok cool, thanks. What FPS does it shoot at? Ive heard 350+fps in the states.

I have 2 Star's an M4 and M16A3, both top notch. Love em.
Best AEG's I have ever owned, so far! (and Ive been through lots of em)
    I can break water

As for the FPS, they tend to come in just over at about 330-335, out of the box. But you can get the Co you wish to order off to change the spring no prob, ;) or you can do it yourself (very easy) They are made with a 110 spring, so a 90-100 spring will be perfect. (best to go with a 90 spring)
    To be sure.

And for the money, ya cant go wrong.

Did you have to get any of them downgraded? and also is there a difference between star and ares in terms of QC? and one last question, wheres the best place to get them? i.e which HK retailer or should I get an Irish retailer to order one for me?

the g36k is ares the others are star, if anything the ares is better quality for lower price :) , all had to be downgraded, i got all of mine imported personally from HK

tbh for 180 ish usd + customs/duty/shipping you can not go wrong, even if the gearbox in a few months does need some work

yeah, my thoughts exactly. The JG feels too plasticy and the CA, well, its a CA. Hopefully I can find a HK retailer that will downgrade it and doesn't use ups:rolleyes:
