    Just a quick question,

theres a taxi rank in malahide outside gibneys, however when it gets full it stretchs around to the end of townyard lane.. when the queue gets that long they go down a one way system turn around and drive (the wrong way) down the road to join the queue... is that not 1 penalty point and a 60 euro fine for each and everyone of them??

and why are they allowed do this????

And i suppose they are ignorant i just thought the guards would do something about it!!

    get over it.
get on with your life and as long as they dont harm you or anybody else then its nothing to worry about.

let them Q up, let them drive the wrong way, their out trying to earn a living at the end of the day.

a thread on here isint going to fix the problem.

You cant just pick and choose what traffic laws you want to follow

Any time you see it happening, report it. Take their license number and their taxi plate number, and report them. Simple.

Same as most things in life, including fraud, murder, rape, underage drinking etc. you can get away with it until your caught, that doesn't mean they are ignorant, but are just taking a view that the odds of being caught are less than the risk being taken ( not that I condone or condemn their actions either way, just something I myself wouldn't do )

I live in Malahide and I've never seen that happen. The queue can go back to Townyard lane yes, but they can't queue there because its too narrow.

Are you trying to say that they queue facing the square on St James' Terrace? that's plenty wide enough, but I've never ever seen them there.

Either way, the Garda station is at the top of that road so I think if they wanted to take them up on it they'd have done it by now...

Nope but that line about them just out to earn a living seemed a bit off the wall tbh. Doesn't exempt them from the ROTR.

yeah i know that, i agree they annoy me when they block a lane, or just pull in but ive seen normal motorists block lanes too. ive been stuck in petrol stations beacuse people blocking exits etc etc but i dont come on here complaining about it, in one line and then in the next go on about how they work delivering take aways commiting tax fraud and been uninsured in doing so as the OP did.

Report it to the local Garda Station. If they want to take it further they will. Otherwise there's very little you can do.

No it doesn't, ignorance implies they are unaware of the laws, that isn't the case, same as speeding just because you speed doesn't par se make you ignorant, might make you a sh1t driver but ignorant....nah!

Not necessarily - that's just one explanation. It can also mean they're aware of the laws but choose to IGNORE them - i.e. they don't give a sh*t, which is the general attitude of taxi drivers when it comes to the ROTR.

Not when you blow off steam about one ilegal activity while practising another two yourself.....as they say don't try to remove a splinter from someone's eye while you have a plank in your own...or should that read "are a plank":)
