Red lines from sleep.

The odd time I wake up with red lines on my face from sleep.
This morning I woke up with red sleep lines on my face
and my stomach was covered with them so much that it looked
like I'd been dragged over tarmac.
Obviously they all go away after I've been up for 5-10 minutes.

I'm sure I usually feel dehydrated on the particular mornings that I
    have the red lines.

Are they caused by being dehydration while asleep?

No, they're probably caused by pressure, the way you were lying, the amount you moved during the night, and the particular folds in your sheets.

It's like if you sit on a concrete block for a while; when you stand up, the imprint from the block will be left on your bum/thighs. It's the same with sheets. If they weren't perfectly smooth, the creases will cause different pressure points on your body, leaving red marks.

    Hi Faith-

Thanks for clearing that up, I was just curious.
Someone suggested that it may have been due to lack of movement in my sleep.
It's the same bed and sheets I always use (well I wash them of course),
I guess I just must have been more immobile than usual that night.

    -Thanks
