Mercedes A-Class (W168) - paint on boot lid peeling

    Hi,

my wife drives a red A-Class. We now saw that the colour on the boot lid is peeling. It looks like there is a layer of foil on the actual paint, and that the foil itself is peeling.

Has anybody had a smiliar Issue, or any idea on how to solve or at least stop the existing peel?

    Regards,
    dsab

Sounds like clearcoat failure, unfortunately this can't be fixed without a respray. Has the boot been repaired before?
If the car is fairly new there may be a paint warranty on it, this is usually 3 years.
