As you probably know we currently run a super satalite for the Irish open every Friday. Its only €35 and very popular.

I have been asked by so many people to ran a regular Satallite for the Irish open as the ones at other clubs seem to be too expensive or have bad structures. (not my words and no offence meant,)

So for the next 7 weeks we are going to turn our very popular Tuesday game into the best Value, best Structure 2009 Irish Open Satallite.

Its pretty simple its €150+ €10 so €160 total to play no rebuys or top ups. We guarantee a ticket every Tuesday (if we get 20 runners or more and we add 10% to the prize pool if we reach the guarantee. )

In addition its a very good structure, 10,000 starting stack and 20 minute blinds with almost all blind levels included so its got plenty of play.

This starts this Tuesday at 8p.m So if you want to play in the biggest sporting event in Europe (prize pool)
and you don't want to spend the earth or have a silly amount of starting chips this is the one for you.

We pay out everything nothing held back so there should be cash prizes as well.

If you have questions or you wish to reserve a space please give us a call

    086-2301229 Ross.

Ross, just a suggestion but when it gets down to 'ticket time' at the business end the blinds escalate to rapidly, IMO, from 5000-10,000 to 8000-16,000 and then 10000-20,000 .

A more gentle increase (5000-10,000, 6000-12,000, 7000-14,000, etc) gives more play when the ticket is on the line. One of the reasons I choose to play in Casino's and not pub games is that pub games have time constraints and they nearly all ramp up the blinds so it becomes a crapshoot when the money is on the line. There are no such time constraints in a Casino and I would say that the caliber of player that will play this kind of satellite wants some play at the business end and not for it to descend into a 'who catches the cards' crapshoot.

    Just my opinion.

Played this last night and got my ticket :D

I have to say that I really recommend this and you should all turn up next week, it was my first time in the poker room and I was really impressed with Ross and Dennis. Friendly atmosphere, free drinks and big over lays!!

Only twelve people turned up so an optional €100 rebuy or topup was added (10,000 chips) in exchange for a ticket being guaranteed. Effectively this meant that Ross was promising to add a minimum of €500 (if everyone topped up) or a max of €1700 (if no-one topped Up). I don't think you will get that kind of gesture in any other poker room.

As it was, 10 of the 12 topped up so Ross ended up €700 out of Pocket.

Thanks Ross for the generous gesture and fair play to Dennis and all the dealers on a well run tournament. See you again soon.

    Niall

Thats some value, well done. I will defo be up for this one of the weeks!

Thanks to everyone who showed up last night.

There was only 12 players but some very good players in that bunch.

There was an overlay but I really believe in the value of this Tournament and I think as the time grows closer people will be looking for a ticket to the biggest poker event in Ireland.

So we will run it next week with a guaranteed ticket. (20 players min for F/O if we get less than 20 we will offer the top up option. )

I think the structure was good with lots of play, 10k starting stack with no antes worked well feedback if any the players from last night felt different.

Congrats to Niall for winning the ticket, first time I have played with him and was impressed with his play and we wish him the very best of luck at the open. Karen Muir played great poker all night and was bubbled in second, Hopefully next week Karen.

    hi all,
we're running again a SATTELITE to IRISH OPEN tomorrow (tuesday) at 8pm 150+10 euro 10k starting stack and 20mins blinds freeze out, super great value for your money, guaranteed ticket if we get 20 players.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 636 ✭✭✭The Poker Room

As with last week if we get 20 players we will guarantee a ticket to the €3500 Irish Open if we get less than 20 we will offer the chance of one rebuy or one top up and guarantee a ticket.

This is the best value, best structure of any Irish Open Sat......

Cards in the air at 8p.m and late entry will be allowed to the end of the second level, unless prior notification has been given.

    Thanks Ross 086-2301229
