Sky TVLink works but not with TV connected

New LG LCD TV connected to RF2 on Digibox with TVLink/"Magic Eye". LED is illuminated on magic eye, but cannot change channels or control digibox in any way. Disconnect from TV and Digibox can be controlled just fine.

Bit of googling shows it's prob that I need a Forward Path Attenuator, otherwise known as a decoupler. FLD5W also rings bells.

    Does this sound correct?

In addition, where in this country could I buy one?

    TIA.

Yes you are correct. the eye needs de-coupling from the tv tuner socket.
    Easy and cheap to make.
Get two std belling-lee coax plugs and a back to back coupler. Six inches of coax cable .
Fit the plugs to each end of the cable. Fit the back to back to one plug to convert to a female socket.
With a sharp knife carefully score a round the cable at two places in the middle about an inch apart, then slit between them. The idea is to remove the outer sheath without cutting into the braid below. Remove the outer sheath.
cut the braid and remove it with wre cutters or scissors. Wrap with insulating tape.
Fit modified cable between Magic Eye and TV. The TV is now decoupled from the eye which should now work. :)

Sounds simple, thanks for that, I'll give it a lash.

I've found that the Triax eye suffers less from this issue compared to the Global "TVLink" eye.

But Rippy's post fixes the problem regardless.

The eye is SLX, and unfortuntely the spare one is also SLX. :(
