xp Laptop with bad Echo on Sound Help!!

    Hi all........Have A real bad echo on my laptop for a good while now and has gotten on my nerves.What i don't know is how it started and what settings i have to change to get it back to normal...Can someone please help me with this:)...Thank you in advanced:)

    Thanks for the reply..There is no microphone connected or internally on the laptop.

    Are you sure there is no in-built microphone?

    What make/model is it?

    Other than that, I know on my Creative Labs sound card, I can add effects to sounds it plays, one such effect is echo. Is that an option on your sound card?

    Check down the taskbar to see if you have any programs running that might be affecting the sound, and close them if they are, helped me before. Also is the echo only from 1 program or do you get it in all programs?

    Tryed no avail...It happens on itunes,wmp and all youtube videos.

    I had a laptop around 2001-2002 that had a built-in microphone. I used to use it quite a bit with Netmeeting when chatting to my co-workers in the US. :) Hence why I asked.

    Most likely. There is probably some software on the Start menu that controls the sound settings also.
