Just caught a glimpse of a programme on discovery knowledge called weapon masters, where they fired a semi auto pistol at the edge of a katana sword. They used a high speed camera to view the results and the bullet was cut in half! But the thing is there was no damage to the sword and not even a noticeable vibration. Discovery normaly show these programmes over and over. It just looked like it was worth watching.

Weapon masters is an excellent show, keep an eye out for the episode on duelling pistols. They have also done episodes on crossbows, chariot archers Greek fire and Roman scorpions.

Fantastic bit of photography and programme!Just shows how well those blades were made.It would be worth pointing out to those who want to ban katanas here, that those genuine types of katanas cost over 1000 euros! Hardly what you common ,or garden Sham will use on a Saturday night.
