Glendalough Snow - 7th February 2009

Some snaps from today. Took loads but photobucket is a tad slow so I'll pop them up bit by bit.

The first was taken near a small stream just as you start the walk at ground level in Glendalough. There were lots of icicles coming down from plants overhanging the stream, amazing to look at but difficult to shoot (for me anyway).

Bit like an alien hand, not that I've ever seen one.

A young goat up near that stream.

An obvious one this for anyone who's been to Glendalough... nowhere near as much snow here as higher up.

More to come, the rest uploaded to photobucket as tiny images for some reason :(

Thanks, bought an SLR about a year ago but have never got round to really understanding the various settings. Must do at some stage as I really enjoy photography.

Another as we pushed further up the hill...

As we moved even further. Snow getting a lot deeper here which you can't really see in the photo.

    Some more.

Forget where I took this one, I think about half way up.

Not far to get there at all, took me about an hour and a half all the way from Lusk! Only up the road really for you in Tallaght.

It was extremely tiring, and reminded me that I need to join a gym! The snow really slows you down, was very nice to have a hot coffee and sandwich when we got back down in the hotel. Oh and change my soaking shoes and socks!
