    What year is the 406?

I would presume LX is the trim level. Sounds like the basic entry model.

I would try and find a HDi version, it was the pick of the bunch.

I think all the HDI estates were 110bhp, there was no 90bhp option like on the saloon. Think LX has no alloys but still has wood trim, velour seats, and climate control.

The one I am looking at is a UK import. It is a HDi 90bhp estate. The odometer is not working and I have heard that it might be hard to get one because it's an import. I have been told that the Irish ones are made in France but the UK ones are made in the Uk and there are some difference? Anyone have some insight?

Irish models being right hand drive like UK models were most likely built in the same plant. Peugeot have a plant in Coventry afaik.

I wonder is it possible to get an odometer for an UK car here. It is the LX model. Even the rapier is different

Why not shop around Ireland for one? They must be as cheap as chips now and the oddometer not working would put me off buying, let alone in the UK. LX was base model and you should get a 110 bhp estate (stdt or srdt) which are higher specs - electric windows, climate control as against air con, rado controls on the steering etc.
What year were you looking at?
