I've just opened the start of the nominations process for the 2008 film awards (now that all the big movies have entered the cinema screens). It's a little bit different to previous years with nominations split into two waves and the vote itself set to use a nice plugin that was successfully used elsewhere.

Click here to get to the Film Awards forum and here to read more about the process as well as an outline of the forum's charter.

The second wave of nominations has now opened, with the first wave still available for suggestions. They're open until Sunday, after which it'll switch to voting based on the nominees.
Get in there now if you want your choice represented on the ballot!

All nominations now closed. The voting stage will begin shortly - just need a little time to sort the voting ballot out! I'm having a little help on this one and I believe it's going to be worth it.

Hey - you can now vote in the 2008 Film Awards at:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/filmawards.php

All votes are recorded with your username, so you can't vote more than once!

Big thanks to CuLT and Mr. E for their help in preparing this!

I voted but got a 202/404 like error?

Your results were captured, PMF. You got the error because you had an exclamation mark in your Boards User ID (and we're blocking exclamation marks from being passed forward on the URL because they can be used in SQL injection attacks).

(To prove we have your responses, I can see you're a big fan of In Bruges) :)

Could this get posted as an announcement for the film forum? I've been through here a good few times over the last 2 weeks but hadnt seen this thread (or known about any voting) until now.

Good work, but the best actress category is rather barren- Anne Hathaway's MIA for one.

Votes are in - the results are here.

Thanks to Mr.E and CuLT for taking their time to help out!

Well there was the chance to nominate, but I found the Best Actress is always one people don't seem to put much votes for.

It's all a bit academic now!
