Hi Guys,im viewing a VRS next week (private sale)
    Its a 02,NCT until september 2010,no tax,fsh and its done 83,000 miles.
It looks very tidy from the pics Ive been sent on,hes looking for 6500...
Im thinking of offering somewhere around the 5000 mark, what are my chances?

    Is it realistic? :p

You might have a chance of getting that off in a dealer, but i don't think a private seller would take that much of a hit. No matter what anyone says here, we won't know the answer. He/she could be very stubburn, or could be very eager to sell, you never know.

Best of luck if you do buy:D

theres a black 06 one on the buy and sell in work, i thought it was very cheap at 12k

that sounds good if you get it for around the 6 mark even

I think a buyer had previously pulled out,and he has bought a new car himself so hopefully he'll be eager to sell.

I guess im offering so low as it has no tax,no warranty and well, cars arent selling at the moment.

will I really insult him if I offer 5000 cash?

Sure you don't know him, and will probably never see him again. Chance it.

    Congrats. Fantastic car.
I traded mine in to a garage last September for 5.5k.
It was 01 with 110k miles. I was looking for between 6k-8k when selling privately. Think the price you got it for was pretty fair.

www.briskoda.net is a place you should visit. its a skoda owners website and very useful for all the small problems that crop up from time to time.

I have a 04 mark 1 in Black. Brilliant brilliant car. I had a 190hp corolla t-sport before it but the Skoda is a whole league ahead of it. Not as quick but a hell of a nicer drive. Lots of Torque and very agile for a big car. Great on petrol to. Mines fully standard and I've driven a remapped one and it is faster. They make a great Track car to. I've done mondello a few times with mine and its surprisingly fast. Offer 4500! Worth a shot. Poor resale value makes for a great used car.

    Heres Mine..

Lovely car for the money. Had a Mk 1 vRS for 5 and a half years. Never missed a beat. Have a Mk 2 vRS diesel estate now. Great car but I still miss the old one. As has been said, log onto Briskoda and introduce yourself.
