I saw a Mitsubishi L200 on the Belgard last night with the reg 05 D 0000. What's the point in using such an obvious fake reg?

Reckon that car was from a motor trader, a lot of them have them on there forcourt with that sort of reg, just to show the year of the vehicle.

motor trader as said above, the car was most likely an as-yet unregistered import with trade plates sitting on the dash if it was out on the road.

Most people do this to stop criminals using the number. A criminal will steal a vehicle, find a similar vehicle sitting on a forecourt or on the internet, get plates made up to match the legitimate vehicle, then commit a crime.

This is why you should blank out the actual number part if selling your car.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Unless you happen to know the real plates of every similar car in the country - the wonders of having something rare :D

How else are you going to (legally) properly test it/push it a bit?

I did say apparently! I think actually what my dad said :o was not that's illegal but that the "open insurance" on the car wouldn't cover it to be test driven on motorway. I'm open to being wrong on this one as I don't have factual evidence!
