Tyre Choices?

Sorry if this is the wrong section :o
Time to change the tyres and looking for suggestions as my local supplier doesn't have the same tyres that's currently on.

I'm changeing the Wifes car tyres, currently Bridgestone Turanza ER300, 195/65/15 91H, very happy with them, great grip in the wet. But told by garage that he has Firestone tyres, that are by the same manufacturer, and are just as good. Is this true?
Also, I'd appreciate if anyone could give me a recommendation for similiar, good quality, good grip in the wet, general use tyres.

Also need to change my van tyres soon. Ford Transit Connect, LWB, currently on Pirelli Citynet, 195/65/15 95T, which again my garage doesn't have. He suggested Fulda? Never heard of them. I do about 22k miles a year, but never have any heavy loads.

Show me the inside of a computer, or a plasma vacuum chamber, and I'm in my comfort zone. Ask me about a motor, and I can tell you where to put the key! :D

    Any advice appreciated!

BTW - I tried eiretyres.com and camskill.co.uk but they don't do the Bridgestone or Pirelli in the sizes I seek.
