COD4 online and annoying internet speed...

I've been playing cod 4online for a while now but I'm noticing a few things. Firstly, my internet connection seems to remain consistent and strong on my pc, but it fluctuates widely on my playstation. It goes from being extremely storng (four green bars) to lagging badly and then quiting by itself. Is there something my small brain isn't seeing here? I was thinking maybe it's the servers and how many other players there are in my area?

Secondly, and this is probably a paranoia and only answerable by those obsessed witht he game... do you think the game is designed to give you a 'good run' and a bad run. I find I go on winning sprees of up to ten at a time, with massive kill ratios. But then as quickly as it starts, it ends with loss after loss for my teams, which ever ones I'm assigned into, and then my kill ration dropping to 1:1 almost.

    What do people think?

First question, could be because PC has dedicated servers and you can sort them by distance from yourself so you always go on the 'fastest' ones. Playstation games are hosted by the players afaik, so how it feels will largely depend on the location and internet connection of the host player.

Second question, the same can be said for any FPS game.

Alot of online games are p2p hosted, COD4 inc., meaning that one person in the game is host which acts as a server. So depending where you are, and your distance form the host, and depending on how good their is, will make yours better or worse.

As for getting streaks and your K/D ratio, I think that depends on your team is, how good you are, and a healthy dose of luck. I've gone 42:6 on Bog one time, and on others I can get minus K/D.

I think going on streaks really depends on your ranking. I never really though of that as I was Rank 54 7th Prestige. During that I usually got paired up with the best players in the lobby. Due to problems I started a new user profile on my brother's profile.

Only ranked 32 1st Prestige and I usually get paired with so many crappy players :pac:

That is just one factor of what is many though but it's a biggie in my opinion to how you get on with your win and k/d streaks.

There will be variance in wins:loses and kills:deaths, it's pretty normal.

As I've said before, the p2p hosting on the PS3 is dreadful and you really are better off sticking to the PC if you're going to play online mp.

i haven't had many problems with my connection im on eircom 7mg
as for your other question this happens to me aswell i get k/d ratio's of 30's/5 for alot of games and then all of a soudden i start getting a negative ratio ive noticed when your on a streak you get more head shots and quicker kills and then next gime your still playing the same your hammering the other person with bullets but he doesn't die
