The 6 nations will be in glourious HD via the BBC from 3pm today.......But with a BUT!

Not Irish home matches as RTE cant provide the BBC with HD pictures!

    Enjoy lads.

Think this years 6 nations is going to be close, All teams on a level par at the moment and that includes Italy.

I thought the BBC did the pictures for Ireland games?

well as far as i can make out each country has their own broadcaster covering the matches and obviously the other tv companys take their pictures? Ive read that the matches in Eng, wales, scotland & france will all be shown in HD (BBC) but due to broadcasters in Ireland and Italy HD pictures will not be available?

    Now i could be wrong.

RTÉ no longer have in house OB facilities, these are now provided by a company called Observe who provide the coverage for both RTÉ and BBC. I believe they have HD trucks and have provided HD OB's before (remember the HD GAA match broadcast during the DTT trials last year). Maybe something to do with the feeds to BBC London?
