Repost: Posting this here. If your part of Fire Service e-mail us and if you have other queries PM me.

I am part of the Fire Brigade Sports Association of Ireland. The name pretty much explains what we are about. We are part of the ESF, which caters for sport in the fire service in Europe.
We have reps in most of the full time brigades in the country but unfortunately not such a broad coverage in the retained service. Can you help us to get the information about sport and other events in Ireland and abroad to the widest possible audience in the fire fighting community at home.

This year there are several events organised including a soccer competition in Rotterdam in May (Ireland hosted the last event in Cork in 2005). We have also committed to hosting the ESF swiming/waterpolo championship in Ireland in September 2010. What we would like to have is direct contact with a least one named member in each Fire station in the country.

To this end we have set up an email address...

    fbsai@eircom.net....

with the hope that we can get as many Fire personnel to reply so that we will build up a database of contact names and email addresses. This would facilitate the instant and easily achieved situation where be information could be easily distributed within our community.

We have a web site ..www.fbsai.com which in the coming months should be more active.

    Hi all,

The Blackwater Triathlon Club in Fermoy (Cork) have agreed in principle to us having the National Fire Service Triathlon Championship there. This will be on the 30th of August this year and as ever it will be a sprint distance triathlon.

If you PM me, I will let you know as it develops and when to enter. But for now please spread the word and get back in training. :D
