Own-Brand Cola

Why is it that no own-brand Cola ever tastes any good? Really, I've tried almost every own-brand cola there is in the naive hope I will stumble across one that tastes as good as the Coke original, but they all have a weird taste (the same weird taste I would add) to them.

Are Coke's ingredients really that elusive and hard to copy or is there a good reason why all own-brand coke tastes like ****e? I mean Aldi coke tastes the same as Tesco, Dunnes, Mr Freeze.

Also why does Red Bull Cola taste like Mr Freezes?

Because Coke still contains cocaine, as it did 100 years ago.
    That's the special ingredient.

Tesco Value Cola - 30 cent
Tesco Value Water - 35 cent

You gotta wonder what's in that cola when it's cheaper than water to make.

Closely guarded secret, no one knows what it is. That's what has the Pepsi employees crying themselvels to sleep.

I used to really love the Tesco brand Diet Cola. Even if it hadn't been only 49c I'd probably still have bought it over the Coca-Cola version. But then they stopped selling it :(

Mmmm Coke. It is definitely superior to all other forms of Cola. I suspect there may be subliminal advertising in their ads where a buxom young lass appears momentarily and instructs you to detest all other Cola-based beverages.

2 Litres of Tesco Value Cola costs 29c. When you taste it, you'll know why.

    Fail. From your own link.
    Coca-Cola didn't become completely cocaine-free until 1929

I agree with the OP, they all taste crap. Pepsi is the only acceptable alternative.

Remember that summer when Virgin coke rocked our worlds? 30p from a vending machine for that cool sugary black gloop. Yum. Reminds me of Canada Dry...

No-one said it is cheaper to make. It's cheaper because it's ditchwater.

    Dunnes Cola is nice.

    Spar Cola is horrible though.

Don't get me started on that Country Spring muck!
