Hi all, I wonder if anyone who submitted a P50 application (Tax refund during unemployment) have been asked by Revenue complete a P12 for the year, wait for it, 2005? Do we have a case of refund avoidance?

I know of someone who availed of the refund in 2008 and did not have any problems.

Regarding 2005 the best thing would be to give them your notice of assessments for 2005/06/07 if you have them or if you were a PAYE employee then give them the P60s for those years. My advice would be to call them and discuss with them exactly what they require from you

They obviously have a marker on that year and regardless of what u were claimin they will request details for 2005. It could be numerous things, one example would be other income apart from paye. As previous poster said, just ring them and see.

And what a convenient marker to pick - I can hardly remember what I did yesterday never mind 4 years ago -

Convenience isn't the issue here, your tax affairs obviously are - its easily sorted. Just ring them or call into your local office and it will be sorted. :)
