How long on average does it take for antibiotics to give some improvement on a dental abscess? Five days on and no improvement at all :( Not looking for medical advice -have been back to dentist twice, and doctor too -am on two different antibiotics (allergic to usual ones prescribed for dental infections) and am thinking of going to A+E later :( But not if they are going to laugh in my face and tell me to see doctor/dentist again.......... Face and neck swollen and hot.....fever.....what are the odds on them sending me away :( Feels like its getting worse not better

It sounds like your infection is very severe. Ask your dentist to refer to A&E if they think it is indicated. You won't be turned away this way.
