    Hi

Is it possible to have two different versions of apple itunes on the one laptop?

I have a laptop with itunes downloaded and use it to load songs onto my ipod.

However if someone else wants to use the same laptop and have a different selection of songs on itunes which they can upload to a different ipod is this possible?

When the second ipod is plugged in it says its tied to another compuer and cant be used on this laptop.

    Thanks in advance for replies

Yeah its easy, just create another log in profile in windows.
Wach will have their own set of my documents, as well as music for itunes, bare in mind the harddrive will be twice for the same song in each library

. . or just opt to manage your music manually and use playlists to separate each of your music selections . . re: answer above I don't believe the hardrive space will be doubled . . I think you just have to point each library to the same shard area on your harddrive

You can set up 2 profiles and use the one library and therefore no need for dublicate copies of files. In each of the windows profiles go to itunes edit->preferences->Advanced tab and click change music location.

So now both point to the same location. If you load a cd in one profile it will automaticallly update itunes in that profile. It won't in the other. But in the other profile in Itunes you can File-> Add folder to library.

thanks for replies. the problem is, I don't want to lose the music already on my ipod (which was put on using another laptop which I no longer have).
when I connect the ipod to my current laptop, a message comes up saying my ipod is synced with another itunes library, & can only be synced with one library at a time. options are "erase & sync" with currrent itunes library or "transfer purchases", but I don't want 1st option & 2nd one doesn't seem to work. also, some of the music on my ipod isn't from itunes, it's from cds........?
    thanks again
