I don't wish to gloat and sorry if I do because it ain't meant to be. I had a good interview on Wednesday. A few people who I worked with previously in a former company worked there. It was for a risk control position. Anyway the interview went well and they got good info from my previous colleagues (never leave on bad terms and try to keep friends with people. You never know when you need them most! - learned that today.) I got offered the position today - risk control. The salary is not bad but hey a job is a job these times. Anyway going in now to talk to the lovely dole people to see what I am entitled to!

Yep. Networking is the best technique.

Job websites are plagued with fake agency ads.

Ring every takeaway, shop, restaurant, whatever in your area and ask to speak to the manager. Then ask are they looking for part-time staff.

Don't wait until you see a sign in a window - be proactive.

I know you won't take my advice, and you'll be back next month asking the same question, but understand until you make an effort you are not going to get a job.

/I am very familiar with Glacier's posts

In irishjobs.ie I wonder how many jobs the agency have or whether they were got sometime last year and irishjobs keeps putting them on because there is no new work coming along? I don't believe that these sites have all these jobs when the economy is going to pot. Folks the most important thing is to keep positive and do other things apart from looking from work. Ok I am lucky but still when I had no work I went to the gym and looked at other places where I can find work instead of papers, crap job sites etc.
