Right, I'm otherwise engaged on Saturday, and don't like the look of that ice, so is anyone up for a spin around Ballinastoe on Sunday Morning, meeting at say 11 again?

-oh, and anyone fancy giving me a lift up? :p

Might come on the fixie cross bike this time, but depends if my hand has finished scabbing over and I can get hold of some armour.

So a rather limp "maybe" from me.

My MTB is currently in for repair but if I get it back I'll be on for it (lift needed too.)

I do of course have my fixed cyclocross bike, I wonder if that would be OK...

Blorg, you did a whole section last Sunday with your forks locked out, so you have some practice already.

    1) Ireland to beat france tomorrow = hangover
    2) other way round = hangover
    3) shoulder very sore, need physio, hopefully today
    4) bike not actually here yet
    5) snow forecast for sunday

MTBing cures hangovers, and snow is no problem!

true, but it's the driving there which is hindered by both :(
and before anyone asks, dunno about giving lifts, have only 1 rack for the roof - lent my boot rack to a mate who is on ski holiday at the moment.....

It has been through a lot in that period, KER-KRASH :D The shifter just stopped working the other afternoon while I was out in the snow.

I am not insane to try Ballinastoe on my cyclocross I'm afraid, only a nutter would do that. How are the studded tyres doing on the ice out of interest? I have been finding the MTB tyres a lot better than my (non-studded) 700x32 cross tyres, seem to be less defected by ruts among other things.

That is a good point... see, this is why I don't drive -no need to worry about hangovers :)

Ironically I haven't been out much on the icefixie this week due to travel/work commitments and pain from the hole in my hand from last Sunday. :(

I can't make it this Sunday. I have a busy day on Saturday so I have to give one day to the kids. I HAVE to go for lunch tomorrow at 1 followed by a few drinks and then the match at 5 o'clock. There will then be more drinks after that and all this without having to spend a penny cent.

I will be there with a friend in a non-boards related capacity.

However, if any boardsie who wants to go ends up stuck and without a lift, gimme a call!

    Dogging, eh?

If dogging is what I think it is, then definitely not!

I'll have the rack, should be able to take one bike and one passenger assuming that they can make it out close enough to foxrock (not all the way, don't worry).

I can manage that mate, no bother at all!

Right guys, the lads I'm heading with are talking about 3 rock.

I don't know exactly where it is in relation to Ballinastoe so I don't know if I can still offer a lift to Tiny.

leave the fools go, we just go get them and their bikes on monday :p

We cycled past Ballinastoe today. There is no way you could go MTBing there (at our level anyway) you can't even see where the trails are. Everything covered in snow. Will post pics in a bit.

Oh well, maybe I'll just have a lie in so :)

I would be on for another road MTB spin tomorrow, to be honest in places the road had basically disappeared, was great fun.

Posted these over on the Saturday spin thread to give you an idea, more to come over there.

OK, snowing heavily here, don't think its a good idea to head out. I really wish this snow would stop already.

Any spins planned for this weekend?

I was up Three Rock at lunchtime, it is still completely under snow other than the main road up it which has been cleared by something on caterpillar tracks.
