    hello all here,s my situation
im taking voluntary redundancy in march so finance will be paid ,
but i asked my bank for car finance and the took my details and asked what car i said 2006 mitsubishi lancer and after all questions were asked they called me back a few hours later saying NO because a 2006 lancer is worth 9500 on there records then i told them it was a evo IX fq mr300 and she told me if it was any other car or jeep they would give me the finance ,

so know as i really dnt want this car to slip away i told the garage what happened and he said tell them your getting a c class merc same price but the chassis number and reg of the evo IX will be on the invoice ,
is this fraud or what is it ,
either way when i get my redundancy in march i,ll be paying it straight off ,

    just need some advice please
    what do i do .

If your payign it in March anyway could you not just get a personal loan or a home improvement loan or somesuch? Doesnt have to be a car loan.

Or even a deposit for the garage to hold the car until March maybe?

I'd be very suprised if this was not found out somewhere along the way. Also, I wouldn't be too happy buying a car from a garage that supports this:rolleyes:

I'm pretty sure they run all the reg numbers through a system like Cartell (can't remember the name of the system) to make sure there is no outstanding finance on a car (used to work for Lombard, but not on the car finance side). When that brings up a Lancer instead of the invoiced C Class it would go to the Fraud department.

Obtaining money by deception I've heard it refered as.

The banks are clamping down on this a lot more. They want to see what you are buying and if getting a car loan they now own it till it's paid off, like HP.

OP just ask for a bridging loan till your money comes through, as I doubt anyone is going to give a car loan or finance for someone leaving their job in 2 months. Don't do what the garage is saying, it's fraud and could land you in the joy.

    Thanks for the update DHM.
I do recall hearing something that motorloans were usually at a higher loan rate than ordinary loans so in future just tell them you want it for holiday/house/wife's boob job!
