    Just after watching it on DVD, really enjoyed it. Some great fight scenes.

    So I've just watched the DVD of this and, despite a somewhat slow start, it is probably as close to "River Tam beats up everyone" as we're going to see any time soon. Well worth a watch.

    Unbelievable. I haven't cringed like that in a long time. Especially at 1:12 ,what the hell is the purpose of that noise she makes.

    Um....like quite a lot of things throughout the history of martial conflict (from Bruce Lee's high-pitched yells right back to the Vikings screaming berserkers), it's intended to psyche out her opponent. With the added effect of providing comic relief too, as in the context of the film this comes a little while after she has watched a whole load of martial arts films including Ong Bak and Dragon.

    I get the feeling that you're significantly outside the target audience for this film.
