    Lad's

I'm thinking of upgrading from standard digital Chorus to DVR but i'm hearing a lot of negativity about. Is it all doom and gloom, or are there any success story's. i have had the standard box for a while now and have'nt had any problems with. Dose the service vary by location (I'm in limerick city) and have had very few issues, except when I have to contact them you know yourself. And it's only an extra e5 a month so not a big risk. What do you think? should I upgrade?

There will be many thank's for any advice:D

I have the DVR in Dublin. I find it is far better than the old NTL box I had. I've only once had a problem with it and that was about a year ago. I would recommend it. :)

I'm in Galway city and haven't had any problems (so far) with the DVR box. I did have plenty have problems with the old style box however and I swore I'd never go near UPC again but moved house and couldn't get a dish erected so had no choice. Hopefully I won't jinxed myself by saying I'm actually happy with the service at the moment!!!

It dose sound like a good deal all he same. I have used sky in someone
elses house and did'nt like the whole navagation set-up, plus im with
chorus already so it's just a matter up an upgrade. What features dose it have apart from the "record live T.V" can you copy to a disc? how much
    storage dose it have?

I think it's 160 GB. The only way to copy it to a recordable DVD. It won't hook up to a computer to copy data. There aren't a whole lot of features but series link is apparently coming soon*, there's a thread on that here.

I find it works better than the older boxes and being able to pause, rewind and record is good. It's also got an 8 day guide.

I've used one and thought it was very slow to respond. Flicking through the channels its seems to always lag behind.

Why would you want to do this? You can delete programs from it but formatting it would make it useless.

I stress, that isn't the same as formatting. It's a mass deletion :)

Now, I'm not sure if there's a way to mass delete.

okay when I say format I don't mean Fdisc it :)
