Hi, what happens if the VRT quoted on their site has the vehicle marked with the incorrect CO2 emissions? The site has the car down as 154, but when I phoned the garage asking about the car he said it was 159 bringing it into the 24% range

if its registered on ROS.ie as 154 i personally wouldnt be ringin them up asking them to higher it. just make sure all the other details, make model etc etc are all correct.

Sounds like the garage trying to make some money on the VRT diff IMO

That or they made an honest mistake with the figures.

Just to clarify, it doesn't matter what the Revenue's website says, or what the Dealer says. What does matter is what's on the V5 registration form of the vehicle - the Co2 printed there is what the Revenue will charge you when you go to clear it.

    +1

V5 number will be used, regardless whether this makes the VRT higher or lower for you.

are you sure? when you print your quote you got online you can use it when you pay the vrt, how this correspond to what you say?

The quote is only valid if the car details that you fill in tally with the car that you want to register. If the details don't match then the quote is not valid.

Often they ignore your quote and look it up themselves on the system, and then check that it's the same as your quote. Otherwise there would be chancers using a quote for a base model car to register a high spec car.
