Well, after quite a few years, my Creative Zen Nomad Jukebox has finally bitten the bullet (amusingly, in the middle of a song called Losing Hope Is Easy)...

My history with mp3 players has been entirely Creative.. first with the brand new 40gb Touch, which I accidently killed when I dropped my rather heavy bag, with it in the front pocket. This was replaced by a second hand Nomad Jukebox, 40gb, which was brilliant, I loved it, and when it went on the blink, I quickly pooled my bits of money together to buy another one before I lost all my music (my collection is on my mate's PC back in Ireland, I live in New Zealand). The one i replaced it with, was pretty much the same... another Nomad Jukebox, but this one held 60gb, which was good, cos it saved me from having to make decisions about getting rid of music once i hit the 40gb line.

Now, I've decided is time to splash out and get something new, modern and preferably with warranty...

And I have no idea at all what I should be getting. I think I would tend to lean towards Creative again, and definitely avoid Apple... I'm not a big film/video person, but I wouldnt mind if it was able to play dvd, but it's far from an essential. Battery life would be nice, basic user functions, and EQ settings would be nice. I do tend to spend quite a few hours every day and most nights plugged into my mp3, and am not currently counting cost as a particularly big limit, I want something reliable, durable... but with no less than 40gigs.

Any suggestions or recommendations? I seem to only really be seeing up to 32gigs on the creative website, but I'm really not sure what I'm looking at/for at this stage.
