Hi all, anyone with FSX want to share some experiences of their graphics card? Getting a cheap PC from someone and want to get a decent PCIE graphics card seperatly. Reading reviews and stuff at the moment but just wanted anyones recommendation specific to FSX.

    Cheerz.

    :pac:

HD4850 runs it fine. But it still doesnt bring out the full potential of the sim - id go up to the 4870. I suppose that could also be caused by the rest of the hardware (RAM CPU) being the chokepoints, and not the GPU, but go on, treat yourself to a 4870 or 4870X2. Mind you either will probably require an upgraded power supply.

Yeah the 4870 does look nice. I can get one for about 500 bucks which is less then 250 euros. mmmm dx10 :)

dx10 on fsx is way over-rated; it seriously suffers from a texture glitch which makes all the runway markers flicker wildly. its very distracting. it makes some other things look nicer, like lighting effects, but the runway markings are a big deal so i just leave it to run in dx9. Dont know why they never bothered to go back in fix it.

youre talking about the 4870X2 being 500 bucks right? Because a single 4870 should cost less than half that.
