Just wonder what are the chances to see your old car/cars on the road, well, provide you did not sell it to your brother/next door neighbour/someone you always see.

I have not seen mine since I handed the key over to the dealer!

I have, sold two of my previous cars to friends, so i know where they are. Sold another car to a lad in Ennis and passed it there one day. Another one sold to a fella in Limerick and he works in Dunnes so it's always parked there. So i've seen all my own previous cars:D

I did see my Last car on the road within 6 months of trading it in against my current one. 4 years old and over 47K miles on the clock when I sold her and still looked like new :D.

I saw the new owner doing a 3 point turn in a residential estate and thought I recognised the car but when I saw the reg plate, I got a surprise lol.

I sold my last car to a dealer in Carlow. Saw it once on the Naas Road coming out of Dublin about 6 months later.

My father had a Fiat Mirafiori back in the early 80s. He traded it in for another car (another FIAT :().
Anyhow, about 10 years later a neighbour bought it!

Scrapped off my old banger in Cork years ago, and bought a 2nd hand car.
The old banger was seen since, obviously some dodge going on with the dealership as I signed the papers to scrap it off.

55mph on a slightly-smaller-than-i-thought-"lane". Hit a spot of wet leaves, the back stepped out and i clipped a tree. Wasnt a pleasant experience.

Learned my lesson very quickly. I only had the car a few weeks too. :(

    Ouch!
    Tough one man. :(
Hope i don't end up doing anything like that.

Anyway, i don't yet have a first car, so my vote would be worthless. :o

Let's see: I sold a 205 to a sister-in-law, and she sold it a couple of years later: it overtook me on a roundabout in Galway about a year on. I don't suppose it lived long being driven like that.

My wife traded a Renault into a main dealer, who stung her for the price of a windscreen off the trade-in because of a crack which he said was a safety issue. Of course, we saw it the following week being driven by a new owner, crack still in place.

I traded an Alfa 155 in perfect nick for very little, and saw an identical model for sale in the small ads a month later with "some engine work needed". Close one!

Traded my Fiesta in and saw it a few months later with a set of L-Plates up on it.

Saw my Focus the week after I traded it in obviously being used as a courtesy car because there was a bit of Tax still left on it. Some complete Gob sh1t driving the living crap out of it and then kerbing an alloy in front of my eyes...really felt the urge to go over there and kerb him:mad:

    Lol!

Yeah, hate to see the next owner does not take much seriousness and care to your previous car as the way you treat it!

Have not seen my old 90's Kia yet, it's been half a year now, should be easily spotted as not many of them in the country these days.

Good to know these many people saw their previous car, certainly did not expect that!

My father and brother in Law always see my old Leon in Inchicore, apparently is in the same condition (immaculate see my profile). Good to know as it was very well looked after. Wife got a summons the other day for her old 00 honda accord that was written off last December, Qunni are useless..

I have seen my previous cars and my fathers previous cars on the roads.

My 97 Seat Ibiza. I saw only 2 weeks ago. Im amazed it still moves.

My 99 PUG 206 - I saw this once in Limerick. I traded this in Tralee

My 00 Almera - I have never seen this since trading

My 05 Focus - Never seen it.

My 04 Laguna - Seen it too many times to care to remember. Bad memories of this car so I would prefer not to see it.

My 05 Passat - I see this every so often because its in the car park at work. Old work mobile

My fathers old Opel Kaddett Registration EIV - 20X This car is light blue and can be regularly seen in Charleville driven by some bog hopper.

My fathers 98 Megane still lurks the streets of Limerick

Not my own but the girlfriends punto that we sold 2 years ago with 100K miles and a buckled alloy is still going strong.

My brother wrote off his car on the way up to Donegal to view a car he wanted to buy. Turned out to be my old car, which I offered to give him about 6 months earlier.

Saw my old '92 Mitsui Lancer import (1.5 dohc) that I sold to a dealer in Monaghan in '99 for a grand all kitted out in Evo gear in Nutgrove a few years later. Looked tacky as hell! WANT to see my '94 Audi Quattro Coupe 2.8 4WD Sleeper that I mistakenly let go a few years back. Was effectively an S2 and I loved it - want it back! Anyone see's it please let me know! She was mint apart from an AMS problem, which is common on these cars, in British Racing Green!

My last car my brother has so I see it frequently, looking dirtier and more decrepit every time...

I've seen the last car my parents didn't sell to the family on the road a few times, 02 Stilo, L plates and manky after market alloys on it last time.

I sold my old trusty 94 Nissan Primera to the friend of a neighbour after 10 joyous years motoring.

I saw it recently in the car park of a local shopping centre and it looked like something out of 'pimp-my-ride'. I nearly cried.

Fairly sure I came across my first car a 90 Civic stripped and abandoned in a ditch a year or two after trading it in, presumably nicked from a subsequent owner and dumped. Couldn't confirm exactly as the plates where gone and wasn't too much into stumbling into the ditch to give it a closer look.

By the time I'm finished with a car, it's usually SCRAP/written off/obliterated, so not much chance of seeing any of my previous charriots in circulation.

Still, one got away though. '84 Capri laser 1.6, reg 84 l 358. Anyone seen it recently?

Crumbs, I hope Junkyard doesn't see this thread, what with people's reports of old Peugeot's, Fiats, Alfa's and - shock - Renault's - running around.......!! :D:D:D

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
