Now that the economy is falling apart and everyone is gathering as much money as possible, how much can you live off per week?

I'm a student currently trying to keep myself alive for about €40-45 a week. But its pretty tough. I find it hard to stay below €50 some weeks. And i don't drink that much!!

Whats the lowest you could see you spend on a continuous weekly basis trying to stay alive. No rent, no electricity bills.

I'm talking between food, credit, alcohol and whatever you may buy on a weekly basis.

Try cut down on credit and use webtext to save money if you get credit a lot.

I dont drink or smoke and I hate going out to student nights or anything.
Food Shopping - up to €20,
Credit - €5 - I buy €20 a month and if I spend it all tough, i have free any network texts and I use them.
    Buses - €15
My only vice is a Dominos on a Sunday with my bf which costs me €10.
So total - €40-50 a week in Dublin, not bad, but you cant live cheaper than that!

Take all your craps in public shítters eg... Callaghans Stephen's Green et al.

Nothing wastes more energy than bunting out a King Edward in a coldwall cludgie.Wears a guy out, big time.

Saves you on food as less effort is needed and your core body temp.is maintained as constant, if you dump in surroundings of 60+temp.

Small ,but hey, desperate Times, desperate measures.

Move closer to a College and starting driving further to work. Cheaper accomodation + slightly more fuel used < High rent in upmarket areas.

Sorry I should have said I would have thrown them in with the food. I go to Tescos, Dunnes and Aldis so to make sure I get all the cheap bargains. Its the only way to live cheaply. I get about €220-250 from home to last the whole month, so if I have to splash out for anything, including my trips home I have a few Euro left. You can do it if you are willing to keep it tight. I have goodies like bagels and biscuits but live mostly on pastas and good old spuds! Not to mention raiding the fridge/freezer/presses when I go home!:)

iv gotten a weeks shopping for 15euro in aldi before, beans, noodles, hotdogs (sliced pan for 60c where can ya go wrong) And my alcohol would be 10e (8.99 bottle of aldi vodka and 49c for 2 litle aldi diet coke) and 5e credit.

So 30euro i could live on

But i dont need to go to those extremes thank god:)

I got a letter today from Tesco. It was basically a statement with €120 of cash vouchers! I had completely forgotten that it was on its way to me, seeing as I earned it from buying a PS3 11 months ago and applied late for em. Sweet as a nut! :)

    €8 without a bother.

Stop getting Koka noodle's, get tesco. Get tesco everything, it is basically the same things just cheaper and more cheaply made.

13c noodles, 23c tin of beans and Sausages.

Come on, it's cheap as hell.

THen there is €30 for alcohol!!!!
