... when marty goes back in time, kisses his mother before going on to play a huge part in his mum and dad getting together...

how the bloody hell did his parents not realise that the child they had grew up to look EXACTLY like the person that brought them together?

You'd think you'd remember something like that..

Never EVER try to reason out the plot holes in time travel based films if you value your sanity. Why do you think Doc Brown turned out the way he did?

Also consider that none notices that a clothing brand is named after him later on. And lets not forget that noone seems to notice that Chuck berry releases a song which is identical to the one he played at the dance.

right, so the ability of Martys parents to remember the face of a guy they met, briefly, a few decades ago is a problem to you (I can barely remember the face of my teacher when I was 8), but the fact that Marty can not only alter timelines with ease but that he is aware of this by the fact that his body slowly starts to fade in and out with changes he makes and that people will disappear from photographs but the actual photographs don't disappear, is not a problem to you.

I'm calling the engineers paradox :D

Films have time travel completely wrong anyway. For every action, the consequences are played out in another reality. If, in this reality, you were to invent a time machine then go back in time and kill yourself, it would make no difference to our timeline, but in another reality, you've just been shot by yourself. :pac:

    Who says they didn't remember?

In fact perhaps back in the 80's while George is up late writing his novel Lorraine goes into Martys bedroom and gets some unresolved issues out of the way (frequently).

    Yes it was BTTF1.

And to say how nobody remembered him as 'he was named after a clothing brand' is silly. Two people with the same names, imagine that!

And it would've been 13 years later that Marty was born and another 14-17 years before he started to look like he did.

You don't know how George and Lorraine would process the information/memories.

    BTTF Fan signing off!

yeah, and when you explain that.....

could someone tell me how in the hithickers guide, was that guy able to go back in time and become his own father

well, they named their son Marty, after the person who got them together, which would suggest to me that they remember him pretty well..

Can someone explain in the film 'Bolt' how they can get a dog to talk? And how does a dog end up having a voice that sounds suspiciously like 'John Travolta'?!

    Always stumped me!

Good animals = Magic ('cause magic is awesome)
Evil animals (e.g. the hyenas from the Lion King, any animal voiced by Eddie Murphy) = Witchcraft

If you want to try a time travel movie that pretty much gets the causality angle right, try 'Primer'. It's as close as you'll get on the screen.

    Talking about plot holes

I just saw that Harry Potter film. A bit unrealistic if you ask me. I mean, a ginger kid with two friends?
