As part of my course I have to do a 6 month placement and I have less then 2 months to start a job. I have applied for a few jobs in Dublin (and I want to be in Dublin) but I have yet to hear anything back from them but they are jobs that I dont really know too much about but I am kinda hoping to learn on the job and would give me a good knowledge going into 4th year.

But there is a job in London that is something I have done before and have experience doing albeit I am a bit rusty on it but it pays about half of what I would be on in Dublin and a lot of my friends are near Dublin.

So what do you think I should do?

I would work for free if it is work experience during college. This would increase the chance of you getting a position somewhere decent, e.g. a startup.

Take whatever good work experience comes your way. Even when the economy was in far better condition plenty of people I knew couldn't be selective about where they did their work experience.

I assume that the college have failed to place lots of students?

If you've been offered the job in London TAKE IT!

Have you been offered the placement? If so then snap it up as quick as you can! There are next to no companies taking on students in Dublin anymore, and those that are can afford to be very, very picky.
