    Hi guys,
I am considering buying a 04 mondeo. Its a 2.0 diesel zetec. It has 85000 miles on the clock. I have not actually seen it in full yet only pictures on the internet however I will be seen it saturday. Its €10000 and has all the extras, sunroof, alloys, electric windows etc. It had one owner.

On talking to the dealer today over the phone he told me that
    1. There is no nct on it that he will get it done when sold.
    2. Hes going to service it and fit a timing belt if needed.......(I thought mondeos have a timing chain)
    3. He will give me a 6 month warranty and roadside assistance.

So what I want to know is this a good deal or what?? He is a SIMI dealer also. And is the miles ok for this kind of car??:confused:

Also would appreciate anyone's opinions on the car in question!! What are mondeos like particularly these ones.

Any problems with them and how are they run??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!!:D:D

That should be grand milage for that engine I would imagine.

The dealer probably didn't know whether it has a chain or a belt when he was talking to you.

Car is fine, price is way off.

Should get a 05 for that or less. I'd value a 05 one with that mileage at 9k euro.

You would get a 04 Avensis D4D hi spec for that price, and they are more valuable than a Mondeo.

Price is too high, for €13K cleared you could have this, a much better bet.

    TOO EXPENSIVE.

Shop around. I bought an 02 from the UK in November and after VRT it cost 5000 euro. It only has 45k miles on it.

And, you are right, It does have a timing chain ! so I would be very weary of that seller.
