By improvment: Is there more variety nowadays in the nightlife? Cheaper and less overpriced socialising? Ease of getting home on a night out on a weekday night? Alcoholic beverages more easily available late at night? Better leisure facilities (without having to pay a membership fee)?

Going off-topic but anyway-

Varied night-life- same as any city, I would imagine, i.e. pubs/clubs/ restaurants. I'd say it's cheaper now because of the recession , too.

The nitelink on weekdays is gone ( though I already said that the bus service is crap in my previous post).

Off-licenses open til ten, I think.

I'm not sure about leisure facilities, there are swimming pools and the like, yes.

Now I'm sure Dublin's not as good as Berlin (;)), but it's not a sh1thole.

Not in the slightest, she has let me go a few times for stags etc. so I would even pay for her first dance. I'm pretty sure I'd be 100% ok with it but I probably wouldn't ask too many questions afterwards. What you don't know won't hurt you.
