    Lads,

I noticed the other night sitting in traffic the rev's drop a few hundred while the climate control was on auto. This is what usually happens when I press the econ button.

I'd never noticed it drop like this before. Since then it seems that the air con is not working all the time, even when I hit the demist setting.

I'm hoping its something to do with the cold snap maybe. The car had a new compressor last summer and has been working faultlessly since. The system is used in auto mode practically all the time.

Anyone got any ideas on the workings of these things? Would the cold dry air recently make any difference? I know we've had colder temps but I never noticed it not working before:confused:

I thought I read in my 2003 Passats manual that the AirCon wont really turn on if it can use the outside temperature to cool the car instead.

I've never noticed my revs move when I turn on Auto go from Auto to Econ. Sometimes the inside lights might flicker for a second, but that's it.

Maybe mine is broke too :(
