    Hi All,
Is there anywhere online that can give u a bit of a guide on using a mac, something like a demo version maybe, or just somewhere that gives basic instructions on basic navigation etc.?

    Cheers

It's really all very intuitive and self-explanatory. You'll be up and running and doing day-to-day things from the get-go.

Didn't the original iMac ship with a single-page manual which simply told the user how to power on the system?

The Mac 101 screenshots will give you the names of the various elements on the screen, keyboard, etc.

If you are familiar with Windows at all, you will find that things like the Taskbar, Start Menu, Control Panel, etc are all there in the Mac interface, but they may have slightly different names and may be in slightly different places.

The main difference between Mac & Windows is that when you first start with Windows, it's telling you where everything is, and how well you're doing, but as time goes on and you get familiar with Windows, this interface-design approach becomes patronising and annoying.
Mac on the other hand, assumes that you are familiar with the interface, and doesn't give as much feedback, which can make seem daunting to new Mac users coming from Windows. However, when you become more familiar with the Mac interface and where everything is, etc, you'll feel that it fits you like a glove and is a pleasure to use.

If you are doing an interview for the job, make it clear that, although you haven't used a Mac to date, it will be no problem for you (because it won't be ;) )

Trust me, I've seen many many PC users over the years in the design industry who have never even seen a mac let alone use them are up and running and loving it within minutes, you'll be fine.
