    Hi all,
I feel a little silly asking this but I've signed on for the first time and after 4 weeks of waiting I've recieved a green slip in the post (UP 11). I've to sign that I was out of work from jan to 11th feb and thats all it tells me! What is the slip for, do I need to bring it to my social welfare office or what??

The day I signed on they were so busy that the guy behind the counter didn't say a word to me except that I couldnt get the JB payments into my bank account and that I would have to go to my nearest Post Office for payment!.

Any info would b very gratefully recieved.

    BE

Give your local Welfare office a call, they are usually helpful.

Maybe you need to bring that form to Welfare office, if it is so ask when it can be done and what hatch you need to queue for so you don't waste time.

Does it give a date when you have to sign on at the SWO?
    Or
Does it request you to sign the slip and send it back to the SWO?

either way, do what it says.

Thanks for your comments guys. Sadly I've not been able to get anyone to answer the phone at the Tuam SW Office, not surprising as it's more than busy!.

No instructions with the green slip other than to sign and date it after asking if I've been unemployed between 15jan and 11th feb 2009. I can only assume that I need to go to the SW office on the 11th as I think its the next sign on day.

God wouldnt it be great if someone would take the time to put in what the damn thing is actually for and what you are supposed to do with it!! Grr.....

I think you have recieved a Gardai signing on slip, these slips were done away with in 2007 but all it takes is to Y instead on a N on the social welfare system. You should go to yout local office incase you missed a signing on day.
