Digiweb to Belkin Modem Router

I have a Digiweb broadband service - box on the roof with cable coming down to a plug in unit; with another cable in turn coming out of the plug in unit and going to a D-Link modem; in turn linked to pc.
I decided to go wireless so I could use broadband on laptop.
Last week while in Belfast I picked up a N Belkin Wireless Modem Router in PC World (there were 2 models - one for Cables and one for BT connections) - per shop advice, I got BT one.
The digiweb cable from the roof seems to have an RJ45 connection at the bottom but this won't fit into modem (which has 4 yellow sockets and one grey one - all RJ11 sizes - but yellow ones have 3+1 small connector strips inside, whereas grey one has 6).
Is there any way of connecting them up or should I simply return the unit to the supplier and buy a ROI one - oh yeah, should have said I'm in Co Louth!!!
    Thanks in advance.

sounds like you purchased a DSL router which is normally used with Eircom or BT or one of the DSL suppliers. You will need to return it and get an Ethernet wireless router which will have the RJ45 as the input on the back

Yes just to confirm what Neacy said above you were sold a router with a built in modem for use with dsl bb or bb supplied over the phoneline.

What you need is sometimes referred to as a cable router. This is a router to be used where you already have a modem as in the type of wireless bb you have or as in the bb supplied by UPC over cable.
